Milan, Italy's business capital, will host the International Exhibition of Information & Communications Technology (SMAU) on October 20-22.. This event is the most important international event for ICT companies seeking distributors, retailers, partners or customers in Italy.
For the first time this year, Smau will be organized into 8 main themes to provide additional opportunities to meet, exchange information, and opinions. The proposed themes are: Digital & Media Advertising, E-Commerce, E-Invoicing, Information Security, Government & Healthcare, Telcos for Business, Mobile & Wireless and Trade.
Each theme will be discussed in depth in the conferences, business workshops, ad-hoc publications as well as research. There will also be an exhibition area where leading companies will have the opportunity to meet others operating in the sector.
Milan's 2008 SMAU event welcomed 46,000 participants, including 24,000 entrepreneurs, managers and public authorities, as well as 22,000 ICT company representatives.
A press conference will be held 30 days before the event, on occasion of which the ICT Observatory of Milan's Polytechnic Institute and SMAU will present a report on the adoption of ICT in Italy.
Participants will receive the Innovation Planner and the Trade Planner. These are not just an event guide of the Exhibition: they contain useful information on Italy's ICT channels, including case histories regarding the adoption of ICT in some event sponsor or partner companies.

How to get to the trade show

By Car
From the bypass roads (tangenziali), follow signs to the interchange parking facilities of Cascina Gobba (subway MM2 green line), Famagosta (subway MM2 green line), Bisceglie (subway red line MM1), Lampugnano (subway red line MM1), San Donato (subway yellow line MM3), and Molino Dorino (subway red line MM1).
From here, Fieramilanocity can be reached via subway red line 1 (stop at Amendola-Fieramilanocity and/or Lotto-Fieramilanocity) or by green subway line 2 and yellow line 3, by going through the interchange stops.

By train
From the stations of Milano Centrale, Milano Porta Garibaldi, Milano Lambrate: green subway line MM2 towards Abbiategrasso; at the Cadorna stop, take the red subway line MM1 towards Rho-Fieramilano, with stops at Amendola-Fieramilanocity and/or Lottofieramilanocity.

By Subway
Fieramilanocity may be reached directly by taking the red subway line MM1 (stops at Amendola-Fieramilanocity and/or Lotto-Fieramilanocity) or by taking the green subway line MM2 and yellow line MM3, going through the appropriate interchange stops.

By Air
From the Linate airport: during the days of the event, a shuttle bus will be available to provide direct service for a fee.
From the Malpensa airport: from Malpensa-Terminal 1, go to Milan Stazione Nord Cadorna, then take the red subway line MM1 towards Rho-Fieramilano, with stops at Amendola-Fieramilanocity and/or Lotto-Fieramilanocity.
From the Orio al Serio airport: bus service connects the airport with Milan's central train station
